CAN YOU STOP BREATHING

I was chatting to my 10 year old son the other day, and I cannot remember how the conversation turned to 'ways of committing suicide' ~ but you know how things can lead from one thing to another! Anyway, my son asked me why, instead of all the messy/bloody/painful ways (shooting, stabbing, etc.), why don't those who want to die simply hold their breath until they die? I answered that this is not possible, no-one can voluntarily hold their breath until they die. That there is some hidden power which keeps us breathing day and night ~ conscious or unconscious ~ the power of God. Or does science have another explanation for this?

Sleep apnea, maybe? I've had some expeiences where I was afraid I had stopped breathing for a long time(under the influence of drugs). But I believe it was a delusion, perhaps suggestions from demonic spirits? The fact that one MUST breathe perhaps proves breath/life is Divine Will, and in reality we can't oppose this without choosing annihilation. Does a being breathe in the afterlife state?

I love to be mindful of breath, what a wonderful feeling. Sometimes I desire nothing, but awareness of breath. I wish I just didn't "get restless".

This is an interesting concept to think about Bob... with reading your post on the conversation with your son gave me an Idea. I bet if all those poor souls that have lost hope within themselves from the illusions that this world gave them Try to do them selves in three times from Holding there breath to achieve it, I bet they will find a new reason for the simple things in life as Theeter discribed in the feeling of the love of Breathing alone as a great way to start back to a positive self expansion.

during a period of time in my life i was going thru a period of very deep morbid grief,it was a struggle for me to just breath
i really did want to die,and breathing was so hard for me ,i wanted to stop ,i told myself stop,just stop it will all be over and you will have peace, but i could not even thou it was so hard to breath ,it just would not happen, and i began to see that each breath i took ,came from God ,every single one ,he desired that i lived, and i started to realise how much i was loved by God , that he would desire me and my life to go on was the most amazing knowledge i had ever understood. and with that breathing became alot eaiser,even thou the pain and sorrow did not subside as gracefully as the self pity and my desire for death did it was no longer a fight between life and death

That was truly beautiful sopherim. God Wills Life, and even when we feel that we oppose His Will, in truth, we really don't, cos Our Will is His Will.

Sopherim indeed I agree and blessed you are for Voicing also such a personel thing, truely to be held in the Highest respect for the Living lessens in all their depths that we exist in for the Father. For He is all, so there is realy nothing we could possibly due to exist outside of the reach of His graces and progressive understanding, as the courage in your Stories have indicated to those us maybe that has not experianced similarities in that point of veiw.
Reminding each other of the presence of God and His Spirit in the Now is becoming more and more important to my point of view in His logos, almost exclusively expressed and shared through others. For we all are the first and the last at diferent times in the now.
With understanding from our own point view, which is realy the truth he wants us to be, I am realizing with all this new knowledge of the celstrial and Theology that could fill Libraries that is very fulflilling to live within and is good also, and sometimes not quite feeling that Holy roller feeling that comes from it, we more apt to turn upon ourselves in a judgementive way of coming short of things we know otherwise but are finding dificulty in achieving that Hieght we know and want to show others. There is much truth also in Falling off, which was not our intention to do for one; But seeing now, the Father wanted us to see something and experiance the difference, and while there He Loved us just as much or maybe even more for the process to be completed in Our raising up from it, which inturn made us stronger in the long run. This also we can now tell with strength knowing, for alot of others that have similar feeling of being alone in it, with desparation.
With Christ living also in the Now as the story says, and ask the Father to take the cup from Him if possible, bears wittness to this. Thus if He had the Joy in full of resurecting that fear would have never come about, but also He would have never continued to live in the Now, only to look to the future which is only a result of the Now.

So Christ going into hades for 3 days only to come out again in greater glory and to Put on the new Garment the Perents had for Him as explained in Pistis Sophia to his Disciples, was truely an intense Happening.
For people to see the good all the time without experiancing the bad, or flip flopping continuously, were I contest I have been at rough times also. I try to remember a Conical scripture of the Bible which says;
Re:3:15: I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Re:3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Also:
M't:5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

These scriptures remind me that Christ and the path to God is open to us and loves us more, when we think we are at our lowest, closer than sitting being complacent doing knowthing and making no difference even in ourselves with the illusion of being Peacefull. in truth that is mindlessness the bride of Satan. It truly is a narrow fence to ride and understand just like resting vs. giving up.

In finishing here.. there is very powerfull key we have, and that is "Forgiving ourselves"By doing that other than having the abilty to continue on the inlightened path of our spirit, it bears witness that God is within us and the acknowledgement of God or a power of Self savation the darkside must flee and be no more, and most important we have control of that power, again relinquisting the power of the dark over us.

How I do love a Happy ending... thank you Sopherim for the truth within you that has perpetuated this understanding for all to see.

i love both of you so much its funny ,we even appear together alphabetically!! i am greatly blessed to feel your words deep in my heart when you speak to me ! i also thank you both for your understanding as Christ grows me deeper in the knowledge and understanding of his life love and TRUTH AMEN . I am very thankful ,even tho the life i live is sometimes very difficult in this world,but this is not where i live i live in him who is love.and have three of the most profound, and beautiful children i could never truly deserve , they are another testament to the loving grace of God ,and his light in my life .God has taught me it is so very important to be real ,be who you are,be sincere.even if it is not such a pretty moment in your live God has purpose for it or it simply would not be,once the moment is past ,it is past now is the only time you ever have

There should be a Holiday for forgiveness

that's funny cos i was just reading a wikipedia article on forgiveness, and there is a religious sect, called the Jains(conquerors), who have, like, a week long holiday devoted to forgiveness. it was a truly blessed article, you should check it out.

We definetely should have communal rituals devoted to forgiveness. This could solve a lot of problems.
