An Introspective Comprehension
A powerful meditation I developed for my self is to just observe internally and see the first thing that pops into my head while trying to concentrate.
I question why it is there, what is it/what is it's nature? Is it ego based? Is it trying to steal energy from my centres?
One can gain a very profound understanding about who they are when they properly comprehend these questions and take steps towards dealing with them.
Try it and let me know if it works good for you or not.

Re: An Introspective Comprehension
My random thoughts are usually in the form of music or poetry, snatches of a song, chunks of poems, and sometime I think about silly things like 'did I turn off the stove?' or 'when was that horse clinic again?' kind of thing. But mostly music, from the Beatles to Korn to Keltic folk music...
Like right now, I have a 311 song going thru my head... 'Who-oa, AMber is the color of your energy, who-oa, streams of gold display naturally...' even while I am typing this. But I don't think my music going on steals any energy or anything, I have actually discovered that is turned off when I am upset or angry. No music at all, not even heavy metal...
"Rainstorm, comin in from the north, I-I-I got to tell you something....'
