Too many topics?

Post by BelzeBob on Wed Dec 19, 2007 12:43 am

Hi!

I hate to say this, but maybe there are too many topics? It's a little difficult for me to navigate the forum.

Maybe topics that are very similar can be moved into one?

I think half the number of topics would be enough. BB

You are not the first to say this. Since starting the forum I have already removed about eight topics. Compared to some other forums, e.g. 'CARM' or 'Christianforums.com', this site is minuscule. I don't really think it is difficult to find one's way around. Are you saying this because there are currently so few members - with the posts thinly scattered? This site is only 6 weeks old now (started 5 Nov), so I am trying to cater to and attract a larger selection of people and ideas. To be truly democratic about this, perhaps we should all vote on the issue, and also suggest the required topics? I'm open to opinion.

I think:

1.topics that are very similar could be put together into one.
2. yes maybe, because there's not so many users right now, it seems a little strange with so many topics.

...actually it's not that bad. There more I use it, the easier it becomes.

It seems that we have a stalemate! Only two users have voted 1/1. scratch Are there any more comments, or shall we leave things as they are? Question

Not at all Bob, I think and was thinking about this site prior to registration that it was a well rounded site covering the basics and many layers out from there that should keep the even the heaviest thinkers with something to comment on 24/7. I also think the wide range of Subject matter is Postive candle apon the table thing. With this I mean if Two or more souls getin to a discussion that is being drawn down, as I have experianced in others, You know just talking for the sake of the power struggle thiing. Then if during that discussion for the ones seeking to quell the flames so to speek choose another completely differant subject to add something in, the others may see a differant and new side to them and all just for that reason alone, may help reattain the respect as it were that began the flame talk and returns all to there original positions with some added insight without no one getting burned. From my own opinion as we expand in ourselves we should able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Let me figure into this, didn't realise there was a poll going on.
I like all the topics, I think it gives a good overview of what to discuss, or start your own.

I think it has more to do with there not being a bunch to discuss the topics, and because Bob has started most of them. When there are more, there will be a greater diversity, I am sure. I am on the Palm Tree Forum as well - now THAT is an overwelming site to find what you want to talk about!! But even there, where there is a huge base of 'chatters' there is much diversity, and think that to be a good thing.....

Just my two cents!

As long as the forums topics remain gnostic-oriented, I think it's fine... it is a new forum, and I don't always have time to browse around when I could (should) be doing internal work on myself.

I think it should be kept simple, because th goal of gnosis is not to intellectualize over things, put put it into practice during our lives and learn in an esoteric sense.

I don't know who controls the forum (Admin) but am happy to see they made another gnostic forum and not another religious one that covers too wide of topics.

Sorry, the vote was only open for two weeks. But I think everyone agrees that the site is OK as is for the time being. If anyone would like to suggest a new topic, just let me know.

hay Bob, Because of such a wide rang of topics that realy cater to what Gnostics can realy cover, and there is still an increasing number of members coming in, I would leave it maybe until you at least see a a specified number of memebers by your own choosing firmly involved , then maybe run the question again then.
Just an Idea. It probably comes from being a boss, forman, Scout leader huh? Basketball
