Enabling Forum Gallery

Post by Brian on Mon Jun 30, 2008 3:44 pm

One idea is to turn on the Gallery.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

If I did turn on the GALLERY, wouldn't that mean using up forum storage memory? And, in turn, wouldn't that mean having to purchase additional memory?

I do not want to have to ask for donations in order to run this Forum - I'd really like to keep it totally free. But if enough people want extra facilities, and are prepared to donate money towards the expenses involved, that might be an option to consider.

Lets have your opinions here.

The Gallery script is sort of neat. I think ten megs gets used up for the gallery.

But there are some complaints about the Gallery on the Forumotion-board. Something about after 100 pics, credits have to be used... or something like that. I'm not sure. On my boards I haven't reach the limits to see what happens yet.

However, everyone definately SHOULD be making use the built-in SERVIMG feature of Forumotion. Which has NO storage limitations! Each user has their own account and can manage their own photo collections.

A work-around for the gallery limitations would be having a Forum for photos and everyone using their individual SERVIMG account.

The Gallery script is sort of neat. I think ten megs gets used up for the gallery. You can always disable it later if it doesn't work out.

No, it's just a deal to post pictures in, like a photo-album.

However, there is a Chat-module that can be enabled in the forum.

Hi again Brian

Perhaps you could explain how to use the SERVIMG feature. I opened an account there, and uploaded some pics, but I don't know how to place them in a post here.

PLU ~ Bob

btw what is the name of your forum site.
