the times are increasingly evil, or is it my imagination? people pull from history far long gone to try and convince me people are no more or no less evil then they ever were.

i find this so hard to believe, in fact i think it is a load of ignorant crap used by people to justify there own evil within them selfs. i am truly shocked sometimes at how truly mean and hate full people allow themselfs to be

The times aren't evil -- there has been days in the far past that was much worst then this. In any case we are upon a cusp of change -- a interval of change. The earth moves through different cosmic phases moved by cosmic laws which man knows nothing about, because this is ancient knowledge. This change will come if people prepare for it or not and the people living now are no different than they have ever been, still mechanical and divided within themselves -- its just that in this time by virtue of the cosmic condition of the earth (its phase and the pollutions) it can be said that these things creates in a man a bigger pull towards his more baser, coarser functions -- his animal nature. But although many think this is a time of awakening (lol), its rather probably the most anti-Gnostic time of all.

Yes, I don't think people have changed at all. Some laws have changed giving the common man some additional 'rights', but general attitudes have not really changed.

If we were living only a couple of hundred years ago, all of us here would have been rounded up and burned at the stake as heretics. Even now, if we were to post the 'Truth' on any 'religious' web-site (even some so-called "gnostic" web-sites) we would be censured, ridiculed and/or banned - that's a fact!

It may seem that we are more violent now, but this is only because we have more destructive weapons of war - instead of the old sword, bow & arrows, etc. - it is NOT because we are more violent! Now just one single person (even a schoolboy) can kill many - hundreds - with powerful automatic guns and bombs and missiles.

Oh boy - the weapons manufacturers want war - war means wealth to them!

Let's not forget Churches like the Roman Church whose culture of death encourages the well-oiled machine of military strife. Put blame where blame belongs. 2000 years of poisonous "us vs them" mentality and look where it gets us - disdain and violence toward the "other." Thank God we're nothing like those jerks. We'd be so much better off without them.

i do on one hand agree with what has been posted.
i also believe with each cycle we are increasingly darker because of the cycles culmination coupled with current technology. this time is thicker and denser then the past . i agree about the rights part bob. but come on
shit is getting pretty sick ,kiddie porn drugs ,immorale illicet nondiscript flamboyant sex ever where, huge amonts of it and horrific violence being fed thru the boobie tube and the internet most kids have no empathy . are we desensitizing the youth, and raising alot of pysco paths? i guess i should say the world and not we . mother of cultures voice is screaming this truth

Sopherim, what you are pointing out is that the scale/quantity of immorality is getting greater because of modern technology - I agree. But mankind's capacity and inclination for all this immorality has not changed - it is just easier for the common man to obtain today.

If you look at the recorded history of the Roman Empire you will see the people were just the same then as they are today (perhaps even worse) - look at Caligula for example - they even believed that they were gods to be worshiped.

At least now slavery is illegal, underage sex/prostitution is illegal, child pornography is illegal, National leaders (kings, emporers, etc.) openly commanding execution/murder is illegal, etc - ALL THESE THINGS WERE PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE IN HISTORIC TIMES.

At first I was going to say that, no, it's all the same as it always has been. But your point is well taken. I think we have a growing issue with evil.

Part of what I think of is this: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If Technology is speeding everything up... I don't know if I can explain this well but it's something I've thought about now and then: If technology is speeding everything up and increasing accessibility to many things good and evil.... If there is indeed a spiritual shift coming where many people are coming into spiritual awareness... The equal and opposite reaction will be a corresponding evil from those who are disconnected. The good side will grow stronger, the evil side will grow stronger, with fewer and fewer non-committed entities in the middle. (geez, sorry if I'm talking mumbojumbo). I'm not sure where that all leads, except it does leave me agreeing with your initial suggestion that we see a growing evil in the world. And yet, no need to fear for those of us who are in the Spirit.

love ? that is a very abused word , i love chocolate ,i love cigs and coffie,i love god but the love of each is different, GOD IS LOVE but love is NOT GOD i do not put faith in a feeling . we may not put people in lions dens but instead we send them to there death for money and oil, our "leaders " our evil the people we elect outsource our food our jobs and starve families and children and make them home less, why in the hell does a 5 subject spiral notebook my son needs for school cost 7.49?.... greed .... the root of all EVIL . self serving GREED ..

yes we can choose where our attention is directed but creating peace and harmony in our own lives to be irresistible to others is a self centered goal . you may win the hearts of many , you may show people who are misguided a better way , but you will never ever affect one who chooses actively to BE EVIL ever , they chose before they were born to serve perdition . evil is real . to say there is good but there is no evil is absurd.they shall be known by there fruits, religion is evil , hate is evil, Hitler, Stalin,Nero were evil,murder is evil, all theses people had people who "loved" them but did it keep them from choosing evil ...... hell no

I'm sorry but I think you've misunderstood my meaning. I did NOT mean that I would be irresistible to others but that people may see and feel the LOVE OF GOD emanating from me and be drawn to it and want to share in that aspect of LOVE and incorporate it into their lives. That is how I came to be where I am today, by sensing a GREAT LOVE within someone that it simply surrounded him and poured out of him and I was so drawn to it. It wasn't physical love or romantic love but PURE LOVE! And I'm not stating that I can rid the world of 'evil' things (I don't believe in the concept of evil but that's been discussed in another thread) but I do know that each one of us has the capacity for LOVE (by love I mean GOD) within them and by projecting it outward through our daily actions, interactions, attitudes and meditations, I believe we can affect the world in ways that most can't even imagine! The power of the mind is immeasurable!
