On Light
Often I sign off using the following: Peace and Light and Wisdom. The Light I reference is not a tangible light, something we can see or measure. It is more the understanding of Light. The illumination of the mind to the perfection of the All.
I recently had a profound dream. I was watching a dark place, when it took form. It took the form of a woman in childbirth. This woman was literaly clear(I could look through her), she was featureless, yet distinctly female. Her form encompassed so much, despite her night sky appearance, she swirled with nebulae, stars, marvelous things. In an instant she birthed. I saw the child's head, like her, a being of some eternity, filled with the swirls of things not yet come into being yet already existing. Instantaneously the child expanded to a being. Only then did I realize I had been holding a lantern with a candle burning in it.
I still do not know what to make of the dream. I tried to paint it, but failed miserably. I wondered in my waking about being outside the box and looking in. In my analysis it brought to the forefront of my mind, the magnitude of trying to conceptualize the Divine Light. I think I finally understood that no matter how much I can strive towards God, toward's the Light of that Perfect Love, I can always imagine one more increment. Frustrating yes, but worthy of the search.
If i were to find a stack of boxes, and were to open one and see it empty, would it be appropriate to assume they all are empty? I think that is the failure of so many of us. DarkChylde said it so eloquently with her allusion to the finger pointing the direction. Too often we become accustomed to the finger and lose our way. It is easy to lose your way.
Of all the things I find comforting in the orthodoxy of the Christian religions is that they all have seen the power in the statement:"I am The Light!". Too bad they have found it to be a finger and not the beacon of direction. Afterall, what is Through Him, With Him and In Him really offering?
Peace and Light and Wisdom
