Hi to all

Hi to all
Hello. I came here for discussions. Agreements and disagreements, hopefully the former and polite.
To be truthful, I don't accept all of it and nitpick over what I choose to believe. With the Gnostic texts, there is a degree of confusion and a constant prayer for discernment. Perhaps I am not alone in this.
I am just a seeker.

Hi Maya, good to have you with us to share in THE search for TRUTH.
As you said: "I don't accept all of it, and nitpick over what I choose to believe" ~ I must add that you SHOULD NOT accept ANY of it! - NOR 'BELIEVE' ANYTHING! The whole point of GNOSIS (i.e. its meaning) is to gain KNOWLEDGE of God through first hand experience - NOT from what you are told by anyone!
I think you will find all the members here a polite and loving bunch - always ready and willing to help each other. So make yourself at home and relax.
Peace, Love, & Understanding ~ Bob

There is the filter I've been using. What gets accepted is what works and is personally experienced or shown. There is an element of disbelief even over my personal experiences, however. Much gets put into a special category of "this happened, but what in the world can it mean?". But what wonderful mysteries to contemplate!
Thank you for the welcome.

Welcome Maya. Remember, one must prove all things. It is not enough to believe, as you know, but you must prove all things within yourself. You have this power to, by reason of your True Self, which is as a Teacher to you if you would but drawn upon it within yourself for True Education.
This is the beauty of seeking. The work on oneself is vital and we increase in our capacity for gnosis as we work on self. In a sense proving its results through our alchemical actions.

Welcome and blessings, Maya!
Gnosticism is a highly individualised path, I feel that you may find it to your liking. Not accepting what other's tell you about God (or if there is even one to begin with) would probably be the hallmark of a gnostic, so it sounds like you are on a search for the true AS IS, not trying to validate any preconcived ideas. THAT is the true mark of a mystic...
Glad to have you in the group!!

Hi Maya,
Many of the gnositc texts are very hard to understand, but there are those here who can give you their interpretation/perception which just might open some doors for you. Always remember that 'First Light' within you is greater than anything outside of you.. there is NO other authority!!
Peace and Harmony through Unconditional LOVE!
