Greetings and Salutaitions
Hello I'm rmcdra. It is an abbreviation of Robert McDra, the name of a character in a story I am working on (The work in progress title is The Crystal Warriors). I an undergrad in Mathematics, (technically Liberal Arts but my main focus is in Mathematical logic) who only needs to finish my undergrad thesis to graduate. My profession by night is Hotel Clerk working the night audit which is the main time you'll see me online. I recently moved to Urbana, IL this past Feb. with my fiancee that I support.
I grew up in the tradition of the Methodist Church but had always felt something was missing. I was introduced to Fundamentalist Christianity while in college and seeing that the Methodist Church I attended in college followed fundamentalist leanings (most of the churches in Natchitoches, LA were fundamentalist). I then was introduced to Wicca (Eclectic Neo Paganism to be specific since its not real Wicca) and other New Age movements but felt even spiritually emptier. I then looked into the Gospel of Thomas after hearing about it from one of my professors and reallized that this is what I was missing. For the last 2-3 years I've been treading the waters of Gnosticism. Recently I read Elaine Pagels's, Adam, Eve, and the Serpent and Richard Smoley's Inner Christianity (though his book I don't agree with all he says, he seems to offer some good advice for the beginner like myself.
I am ready to plunge in the deep and am thankful for the invitation to be part of this community.

Gretings and salutations
Greetings Brother, glad you have found your way to this first step of the rest of your life.
allthough unique feeling, our common bond here also is the quest for fulness in the Father.
Along with better gas prices.... LOL
Take a breath, and rest thy soul indeed
Brother Thomas.......
