Where to point one's feet...

There was a fakir who was passing thru a predominately Islamic area once, and overcome with weariness he decided to catch a nap in a shade tree by the road. As he was resting peacefully, a cleric came upon him and found the holy man asleep with his feet pointed in the direction of Mecca. Angry, he awoke the napper and demanded that he not point his feet towards Allah like that.

The holy man made all apologies and thanked the cleric for informing him of his atrocity. "Now then,' said he,"would you kindly point my feet in a direction that God is not in so that I may resume my nap?"
