Re: Some stuff on Valentinians...
I think we should agree to disagree, as suggested in the other thread. I am no more a new ager than you, and I am pretty well educated in ancient gnostisicm, even my husband has suggested I go to school for biblical studies to help hone my interpretation of the scriptures in a gnostic light. I have my own take on old truths, I am in a new age but the ideas remain the same.
We really need to quit the petty bickering. There is no desire of mine I WANT you to fulfill- honestly, you are not my type....

Y'kow what's kinda funny. I don't expect Passerby to take offense to this b/c he's probably recognized egoic reactions. This is one problem I have lately. Sometimes I may say things to others that they may take offense to, because Im not worrying about treading on their ego. Im probably perceived by others as harsh and aloof. It's good that we can say things like this to each other, joking around, in fact I think it's good practice for us to see how the ego may react. Sometimes it may be sly and not simply take offense but instead elevate itself another way. How do you all handle the knee-jerk egoic reaction, namely, when it feels another is "attacking" it? "My safety lies in my defenselessness" is a quote I like to remember in such a situation.
