Re: GNOSIS
so I seek, hopefully not in vain
I don't think anyone could ever find Love/Truth/Satisfaction to be vain or meaningless. That is the definition of vain, right? Not wholly satisfying. I have Faith that Eternal Love satisfies one Eternally

The day that I really know, then I will know truth, yet until then I am stuck meditating, reading, seeking and applying the Way to my daily life to maybe one day have the satisfaction that comes from knowing mySelf and the true meaning of Initiation into the Mysteries.
If I die before I reach the Kingdom within, then as far as I know my search was is vain, no matter how much self deception I could talk myself into. One thing I have found is that meditation and the search does change my view of reality, but as far as I know this is a conscious shift, not a realization of the true Nature of reality, any more than it is to alter ones mindstate as John Horgan did in rational mysticism. A trip just shows the limited spectrum our senses are tuned to.
I feel that true fruits are yielded by effort, not quick fixes like a pill or drug.
I have popped into some realm that may have been the astral, entering through a symbol, and floating down to what may have been elemental beings, yet not at my own volition, so it seems like a lucid dream, and at best shows me that there is more past the normality that the majority of humanity considers reality, yet I seek something Higher.
In the search for truth, I figure I must be brutally honest with myself, not letting what I read influence my quest to stop short of actual Initiation, if I can help it. In this that means I am not even sure of Initiation, but I figure it's worth a shot to take the best of what I have sifted out of the clues humanity has left me,and take them as serious as a map in the unknown, otherwise I might as well blindly believe a religion, or be a materialistic consumer trying to occupy my time in the semblance of life.
I hope that anyone who is serious does the same, because in the moment of the body being left to whither back into the inanimate matter it once was, the work one has done, and the truth one has found will be tested, so it is fully up to us what we do in life, and I cannot say that for death.
There is no religion higher than truth. H.P.B.
Re: GNOSIS
What I mean, basically, is what Jesus said, something like, Seek and you shall find, when you have found, you will marvel(be terrified, even?), when you marvel, you will conquer, when you have conquered you will rest. This is His Blessing,His Assurance. No doubt about it.
Also, as Jesus Christ said, the Kingdom is already Here, we may just not have eyes to see it yet. Some have said(and I've a feeling it is true) that Heaven exists and we shall "slip" back into it, "forget the former things", and bask in Eternal Peace/Passion(my terms)
