Think like Darwin. Are God and His works perfect?

I do not believe in the conventional God of scripture but regardless of this fact, I believe that we live in a perfect environment and evolving system.

There is biblical support for this view as well in this.

Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his work is perfect:

Many believe that this perfection was destroyed by man in Genesis.

How perfection can make imperfect choices is beyond me but most think that Genesis was the fall of man. ...

Jesus said to the Father. About the Plan and my death, get serious.

Some believe that the Father would tell Jesus that they would create humans with original sin. Then they would impregnate Mary with Himself as her child so that He could be born as human and Himself. He then would commit suicide as a sacrifice to Himself to save man from the sin that He had condemned and created man to do.

This is one view.

The real view is that we are born with sinning nature thanks to ...

God wants us to sin and repent to earn heaven.

As a Gnostic Christian it is my duty to show how Christian scripture should be interpreted to show how God can be logically found and understood.

Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

The other day I was reading some blogs about fundamentalists issues with current events. One poster pointed out that presuming to speak for God, using the Bible, was blasphemy. After a little reflection I could see his point.

Blasphemy: The act of claiming the attributes or prerogatives of deity.

Those who claim judgment on others through the use of Bible quotes do exactly this. But, I think the harm goes much deeper.

God’s Wife.

In discussions with those who read scripture literally, they tell me that God has an actual body the same way we do.

When scripture says, God spoke, He actually spoke in sounds that we would hear.

When He walked with Adam, He would have shown tracks and all. He could splash around in the water.

This inevitably leads to the use of God’s body parts and the parts that few speak about, you know, the more dirty parts, and functions of these parts. Teeth, lips, penis, anus and ...

Is God proud of His work?

You should know that I do not ever expect God to return at some end time because I see His judgment at the beginning of our birth in Genesis as the only judgment that he need’s render.

Genesis 1:31

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

This very good included all that is, including sin, evil and the woes that were to afflict us, without which we could not develop our ...

Is God and His works perfect?

I was a non believer at one time and enjoyed winning debates with believers using the K J Bible against them. Paradoxically, it was by knowing this Bible and interpreting it my way that lead me to find God.

I had determined that if there was a God at all, then whatever he had created had to be perfect and that that

This perfection would maintain itself over time. Never backsliding to imperfection.

God could never look down on earth and say, oops what the ...

In a previous discussion, I stated that I do not believe in miracles. My logic for this is that if an outside force were to increase the available energy in the universe, kinetic or other type, the balance of the universe would be disturbed and the natural law of conservation would be violated. After some thought on this subject it occurred to me that there may be a way that what are perceived as miracles could happen with out this violation of natural law.

Hi,

Has any one purchased and listened to the Gnostic Lectures from Stephan Hoeller? If so, are they worth the price?

I listened to the free lectures and found them interesting and somewhat enlightening. Just seems a little pricey for the whole series.

Thanks,

Who is Christos

I'm a little hazy on the Mythology of Christos. According to the Sophia Myth:

All the Aeons together were concerned about the appearance of Chaos and so they,

with the divine Sophia, prayed in depth and a new dyad was manifested: Christos

and the Holy Spirit, his female counterpart.

In other texts I find Christos and Sophia are counterparts and emanated much earlier in the creation myth, directly from the Fore-Creator?

Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks,

I approach gnosis from a questioning point of view. I use scripture, personal experience and other sources to find questions or hypotheses and then look to the world and others to confirm what I suspect. As part of this search, I have uncovered some interesting concepts that merit further investigation.

In the Pistis Sophia, Yehosua asks his Disciples to decode messages in the form of the Repentance of Pistis Sophia. It occurred to me that there may be more to this than one first expects. ...
