Will the pope act like Belshazzar or Cyrus?
Anything looted by the Romans during the destruction of the Temple and the razing of Jerusalem in 70 C.E. (Common Era), would have become the property by default to the Roman Catholic Cult. Undoubtedly some things were melted down, but others of great importance - like the Menorah - would have been treasured and kept, just like the former Babylonians had plenty that God saw to it was returned to Jerusalem (where they belong) when the Persians came to power.

What is SPIRITUAL about anything made of metal - whether it be gold or lead or iron? To value such things is merely ignorant idolatry.

There is much spirituality in everything, as everything has a consciousness -- or rather is a projection of consciousness. If you understand the principles of alchemy, Spiritual Alchemy, metals teach you a whole lot. However this is esoteric knowledge and isn't literal. Who has sought to turn what is coarse into gold?

Perhaps you could explain a little more about how idols made of gold can be Spiritual. I have never learned about alchemy, thinking it is "wishful thinking" (myth), more than reality. I assumed that to turn things into gold was a metaphor for making things perfect, or pure, or good, etc. - not in a literal sense of changing a base metal.

Their consecration to God makes them holy, just like the Bible reveals.
To value such things is merely ignorant idolatry.
To fail to properly value the consecrated Temple treasures is idolatry, which is why Belshazzar lost his kingdom to the Persians.

Who is it that rules ALL the kingdoms of this material world (and all the material treasures therein), and actually offered them to Yehoshua (and us) in return for His (and our) submission?
Do you know?
