Don't Fall for the Rapture!
We meet the returning Christ in the air and RETURN TO EARTH - to the Mount of Olives - and reign with but under Him, composing the Kingdom of God: just like the Bible clearly says once we remove traditional blinders.

Well, the following is just my personal interpretation of the so-called "rapture".
In my opinion, the only way to full and genuine Knowledge/Experience of God is through the 'Holy ONE' (i.e. the Christ / Messiah / Avatar / God-man / Buddha) ~ not some historic incarnation, but the current contemporary Master who continually resides on Earth, and who can reveal the Keys to Experience the Sacred Mysteries of the Spirit. Thus, for me, the "rapture" refers to that time when one actually discovers and meets this Master for oneself - i.e. each of us individually! - and learns the true WAY of KNOWLEDGE. Therefore, it does not happen to everyone at one specific time, but to each individual at the time when they are individually 'ripe' and ready (mature).
This way requires total submission of ego to a 'human' Spiritual Master (just as those who followed the living Jesus had to submit themselves completely and put all their faith in Him). It is not an easy path for the ego.

1 Corinthians 15:45-57
Does this verse claim that the material body will be redeemed and made eternal, or do we lose the material body and become clothed in an eternal body(of light, perhaps?)?

The follower of knowledge learns as much as he can every day;The follower of the Way forgets as much as he can every day.By attrition he reaches a state of inaction
Wherein he does nothing, but nothing remains undone.
To conquer the world, accomplish nothing;
If you must accomplish something,
The world remains beyond conquest.

I am not the one to ask about interpreting the letters attributed to Paul, as I consider him a false apostle/teacher. But as to your question about the material body, it will definitely be lost. It is only of use in the carnal world. We will return to God in HIS image of SPIRIT/LIGHT.

What did Christ say? What was the example Christ Showed us. He was the first fruits.theeternaliam wrote:1 Corinthians 15:45-57

He was the example to come.
His asention and thus return will be alike.
Examples of the future.
Re: Don't Fall for the Rapture!
Very True, I didn't recognize this simple truth till now.
I've a feeling you don't like reading gnostic scriptures, Cha Chynga, but The Pistis Sophia gives an awesome acount of what Christ does after the Assension, and how He saves our Souls. This part is missing in the New Testament, so I find it very interesting to read. This and some other gnostic scriptures are an important reason I turned to the Christ, after being shown How we are Saved, not through His "death"/"sacrifice" which I couldn't quite fathom, but b/c He Lives and conquered the limiting powers.
