Some Good Books I've Read

Post by tcnast on Sat Nov 17, 2007 11:15 am

Hello Fellow Gnostic-ians:

Here are two books I highly recommend: "Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy": for depression; "Life After Life" for a good introduction to the other side of the veil.

I'll be adding more titles as I remember them.

There exists a very profound work by Samael Aun Weor called "The Revolution of the Dialectic" which is a MUST read for any serious person using gnosis to eliminate their psycological defects.

I also got alot out of the Gospel of Truth. Only after certain experiences did this wonderful work really open up to me. It's hard to comprehend such material without prior experience.
Try reading Pistis Sophia without ever having started gnosis, and you will understand what I'm getting at.

To be or not to be...

Post by tcnast on Wed Nov 21, 2007 12:09 pm

Hi
Apakhana:

Thanks for sharing that information with me.

I have to clear up a little confusion though that I've inadvertently created: I am not a Gnostic; my salutation (hello fellow Gnostic-ians) was a reference to the web site not the religion. Of course, I've nothing against Gnostics; I just have my own individual beliefs. I hope no one is offended. And I hope there is room on this web site for followers of other religions & belief systems. I like learning about other people's beliefs. So here I am...

OK, OK...

PS -

If you're into theosophy more than gnosis you could check out "Isis Unveiled" by Helena Blavatsky.

Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why by Bart D. Ehrman

Don't know if anyone else has read this, but it was a good read and very useful when being hit over the head by thumpers about how the WORD is without error.

Peace.

I'm reading A Course in Miracles. I recommend the "short" version Accept This Gift: Gifts From A Course In Miracles. Great quotes in this book. It's the kind of book to open at random just to be inspired for the Journey. I like some of the quotes to help put me in a state of clarity and relaxation. Some quotes for this purpose are: "You are as God Created You" , well, I can't thik of anymore offhand Very Happy but you get the drift.

Hello Tom, this is also Tom from Ct, just over the line.
Tom You stated that You had your own Beliefs. Within a Friendly context only I was curious as to what your beliefs might be as to like;
Where did You come from , and where you are looking to go when we are done in our present body if any. I guess these are the two biggies , so why not ayy?

Much peace as we seek all there is to find

Brother Thomas
