WHY SO ?

If God created everything, why did he create poisonous things? Like snakes and poisonous plants. For instance, mushrooms and toad stools look the same, so how can you tell the difference? So is God trying to hurt us?

Mycology is a hobby of mine. I do know many edible as well as poisonous speicies of mushrooms. However, I do see the real question here.
Considering that the material universe is constantly feeding upon itself, aging, and morphing to some new level, I think that what we see as destructive is more the doings of the demiurge in a flawed creative expression. Yet, we cannot necessarily disregard the true concept behind the Trimorphic Protennioa...literally the triple formed first thought...which created everything. Conceptually it is impossible to grasp this, yet if each sentient can, with the peripheral vision of the mind, grasp the sense of it, we can understand the physical, the universe we can touch as merely a garment.
J.R.R. Tolkein offered the concept of creation as a Harmonious song, which brought forth everything...even that which we call evil. Earth was more than just a place in the physical sense. Certainly there was the profoundly physical realm frought with danger and death, yet beyond were levels of existence that were eternal.

I suppose in some way, if we see the poisonous things, the death dealers, the merchants of destruction, it allows the seeker to have a base point from which to extrapolate in the search for the True Light of existence. In this frame of our existence, everything is fleeting...beauty is always a mask....nothing exists in the physical plane without taking a toll on some other thing. I think we need to look at the fundamental life force within the fabric of everything that has always been the All in order to know the truth.

It has always amazed me that all (vegetarian) animals seem to intuitively know what plants are good (or OK) to eat, yet humankind seems to totally lack this knowledge.

I remember in my youth that many physicians recommended a flesh diet - saying one could not be healthy without consuming animal flesh!

EJ... Like the Mushrooms and toad stools, Consider the Good and bad kids at school (They are not realy bad they just do not know yet) Do they all look alike on the first day or to a passer by? Yes of course. This world is full of Both sides, be it, people of Plants or things, God knows if we take the time to figure out which is which, and also maybe tell your good friends too, it would make us stronger and smarter living here. Just as your Dad would want also, and wouldn`t have to worry about you as much, because now You know.
This is all part of the process of becomeing a man my friend, and just by asking you have well started that process EJ, Good for You.

Hello little brother. One thing you must remember, God is Good. God never harms or wishes to harm you or anyone, anything. The fact that you want Good and Happiness is ennough proof that a Good God created you.

Good question, noone here could answer your question. We are all still tryin to figure this one out.

theeternaliam is right ,i have typed 3 posts and changed my mindas this is a very DEEP question . there are some things we will never fully know or understand what GODS INTENT IS . the one thing i do know is that GOD knows what he is doing and is control. Christs teaches that we should not fear any one or anything, that it brings harm and will not benifit us to worry,
and some times that is hard, i think you are brave{ you would not see me living near a volcano.....hehe} you have a very wise heart and soul and a loving daddy who is a teacher of the way who is equipping you to be strong in the lord,, never stop seeking truth even when the questions are hard and the way is long................even if there is not a soul who can answer you ...here and now there will come the time when you are completley one with the knower of all things and it shall be reveiled in you.................... may Gods love continue to bless and grow you deeper in him each moment.

Well, for starters, most gnostics do not see the 'creator of the material world' as 'God', tho most religions do. So while the physical world came into existance by the will of the 'Father' (to use a Valentinian term) the actual creation and manipulation of matter was by the Demiurge.

That having been said, still, the only difference between MEDICINE and POISON is dosage (in the medical feild I can vouch for that.)
