A typical response from one who totally misunderstands the crucifiction of Christ.

Don't you mean Chukuma? He's the one who mentioned the crucifixion!
But I will give you my opinion, for what it is worth. Apart from the various interpretations which may be given to this incident (the crucifixion), I personally believe that it was not a necessary element for our (or anyone's) understanding of the Way - or any kind of sacrificial benefit to humanity.
Yehoshua was hated by the religious authorities, who considered him to be a threat to their belief system, and might easily have been stoned to death. However, I believe that He was held in high enough esteem by enough people (even within the Sanhedrin) that they chose to hand Him over to the Roman authorities on trumped up charges, rather than be seen to have His blood on their (the Sanhedrin's) hands.
In short, the crucifixion was merely the killing off of yet another great Spiritual Master in the prime of His Mission. Yehoshua definitely came to Earth to reveal the Sacred Mysteries of the Spirit - NOT to be killed as a (pagan) blood sacrifice for humanity's sins!
That is just my opinion.

Hi GG
Please be very clear on exactly who and/or what you are replying to. Was this in responce to the quote in my O.P., or to Chukuma? I understood it to be to the O.P.
Please clearly 'address' all your posts, so that there is no confusion ~ and this goes for everyone. Thanks.

Hey, Soph. I was the one that made a remark about the crucifixion. The person who made the statement that ABS quoted had it in mind. I see this as a misunderstanding of what the crucifiction actually is. It an internal happening, not external. And this internal experience comes about through much work on the individual's part. So, naturally, I disagree with the person who stated its not what " we " do, its what God does. It is what we do that matters. And in respect to what God does, this person draws no distinction between Jesus and God (Jesus = God) or for that matter, a sacrifice that would not bring about redemption as explained by orthodoxy.

Yes, exactly! The only crucifixion that really matters is our own dying to carnality! - to our persona (mask)!

to me this sounds like a very self- depreciating and disconnected statement. It sounds as if they are christians because they feel an obligation to god.

Sorry. I tend to be full of one liners no harm intended....by pathetic I mean no amount of kindness or goodness is going to get you to the other side/heaven/after life etc....My take on the Christian view of things is kind of harsh so I would not feel obliged to go into it here..

Hey I am open to conversion you got a suggestion? Be honest and I do not like doing this. I was born and baptisted a Lutheran...I have floundered around from one belief to another with no real connection to any of them. Yeah I believe in G-d, I do not know what you mean by truth. I really do not know what people expect of me when I post on these forums my views are far right I agree but I do not agree with standard Christian doctrine on a lot if things. If my views offend any one I am sorry for that. I can leave if that is what is wanted? And thats one reason I am in the process of starting my own forum as well........
