Although the term 'disciple' comes from the word 'discipline', I am amazed at the number of (religious) people who say that they wish to follow God in their own way. Of course, people tend to desire what they personally percieve to be freedom. But what is freedom? Many Masters have said the Truth will make one free - REALLY FREE! But to gain this Truth and Freedom require REAL DISCIPLINE. But it seems that many are not prepared to submit themselves (their ego) to a genuine Spiritual Master, and become a true DISCIPLE of THE WAY.

It's simply self-will, fantasy and lack of Common Sense that people want to understand/follow everything in "their own way".
Just see where "their own way" leads them. Usually not to anything great. There are rules to follow, no matter if you want to be a shoemaker, a chef, a successful business man (unless you're father is Rockefeller) or enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
People's subjectivity is their prison and their slavery. But always being "in the right" gives a certain comfort that most people don't want to sacrifice when it comes to metaphysical matters.

Yes BB, I agree. Is there no one else who has any opinions on the subject of being a 'DISCIPLE'?
